The route is located in northern Israel on the southern slopes of Mount Carmel near Binyamina and Zikhron Ya'akov. it starts from Amikam which is a moshav which was established in 1950 by Jewish refugees from Harbin, Manchuria and Shanghai, China, who had fled the Chinese Civil War and foes to Bat- Shlomo which was established in 1889 as a daughter-settlement of Zichron Ya'akov, funded by Baron Rothschild, and was named after Betty Salomon, the daughter of Salomon Mayer von Rothschild (the Baron's uncle and grandfather). In 1951 a moshav was established by Transylvanian and Yemenite immigrants adjacent to the original village
